Job Responsibilities: |
Support the Sr. EHS Manager and site in the development and implementation of EHS training at all levels. |
Develop and implement EHS SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) |
Support and develop the management of the worker’s Compensation Program. |
Support and develop the implementation of proactive Safety and Health programs. |
Manage collection and disposal of hazardous, non-hazardous, and biomedical waste streams; maintain professional contacts with approved waste vendors; and promote waste minimization, cost-saving, and cost-avoidance measures throughout all operations of the facility. |
Schedule/Coordinate and track periodic industrial hygiene, safety and environmental testing/sampling. |
Conduct and manage risk assessments of chemicals, equipment, and operations to specify engineering controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment as applicable. |
Manage the EHS documentation in accordance with regulatory record keeping requirements. |
Drive the integration of Workplace Behavior Based observation programs pursuing compliance and continuous improvement for risk and injury reduction. |
Drive velocity and effectiveness of incident investigational and reporting process. |
Lead first aid team. Manage and foster improvement with First Aid / AED / Spill kits inspections and continuous improvement. |
Working knowledge of site permits (i.e. air, industrial wastewater, stormwater, etc.) and performance of duties to maintain compliance with permit conditions. |
Serve as EHS representative in cross functional projects for new process/chemical introduction, process capacity expansion, facility changes, new equipment introduction, etc. |
Represent EHS in compliance audits and regulatory inspections. |
Conduct and/or coordinate periodic industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental sampling/testing. |
Conduct risk assessments of chemicals, equipment, and operations to specify engineering controls, work practices, and personal protective equipment, as applicable. |
Complete and submit periodic regulatory reports (i.e. Biennial Hazardous Waste, EPCRA, AOR, etc.) |
Conduct and document Job Hazard Analyses. |

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities |

OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations (federal, state, and local), recordkeeping requirements, and guidelines. |
Well versed in Investigation practices and procedures. |
Able to develop and provide training to large audiences and management levels. |
Is Skilled in Industrial Hygiene principles and instrumentation. |
Proficient use of relevant EHS business, scientific and personal computer hardware and software applications. |
Advanced use of Business English, spelling, grammar and punctuation. Candidate must excel at reading, writing and be fluency of the English language. |
Well versed in FDA, cGMPs, and SOPs related to job requirements |
Proficient at Interpreting and applying federal, state and local regulations, policies, and technical procedures. |
Competent in Writing technical reports, business correspondence and standard operating procedures. |
Skillful in responding to inquiries from management, employees and regulatory agencies. |
Drive the analyzing and troubleshooting of problems, identifying solutions, recommending and implementing methods, procedures and/or techniques for resolution. |
Comfortable managing multiple projects, duties and assignments. |

Experience |
A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the areas of occupational safety, health or environmental; or equivalent combination of education and/or EH&S technical experience. |
Hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing work environment is required |
Experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device or electronics industries is preferred. |
CPR/First Aid Certification |
Experience in Safety, industrial hygiene and Environmental regulations required. |
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: |
Extended periods of sitting, standing and walking, moderate noise levels, and some business travel. |
Work is performed in office, manufacturing, warehouse, and laboratory environments with exposure to electrical hazards, dangerous tools and equipment, toxic chemicals and pharmaceutical compounds. |
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. |
There is a potential for limited work assignments (employee training / communication, observation of process operations, etc.) on the off shifts. |
Salary : $90,000 - $97,000
