Position Overview
Technical Director is a key contributor at all stages of the event production process, from the initial concept stage to post-production follow-through. Leveraging their strong technical aptitude and collaborative leadership approach, this position works effectively with Technical Producers, Technicians, and clients to ensure a unified vision and a well-executed event.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in planning sessions to contribute ideas for project proposals
- Produce technical drawings
- Review client provided technical drawings and determine all technical requirements
- Resolve equipment conflicts with the Equipment Manager
- Assist Technical Producers with managing timelines for pre-production, show, and post-production
- Assist Technical Producers with client management
- Serve as primary client contact on projects
- Serve as on-site crew chief during setup, show, and strike
- Create production timelines and show schedules and call cues
- Foster a supportive, respectful work environment
- Maintain knowledge of advances in technology, including virtual platforms
- Adhere to safety protocols in-office and on-site
