Hatchery Service/Dispatch Supervisor

Job Description Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly qualified candidate with previous hatchery experience to join our team as Hatchery Service Room Supervisor. This position will be responsible to supervise and manage the service room operations. This position will report to the Hatchery Supervisor.

• Perform and coordinate all processes, from receipt of sexed chicks, hatch grading, vaccination toe & beak treatment, etc.

• Provide guidance and supervision to staff. Monitor staff performance and staff development

• Perform duties related to assigning, training, disciplining hatchery employees with HR consultation. Consult with Hatchery Manager on employee issues, when necessary

• Responsible for generating accurate on-time reports (hatch projections, scheduling, etc.)

• Ensure all aspects of hatchery service room operations are in compliance with ISO, animal welfare, bio-security guidelines, and safety compliance and take appropriate action if required

• Effectively communicate with other departments of the company regarding chick conditions, and other issues related to the hatchery service room operations

• Occasional weekend work and holidays according to hatch schedule

• Perform related duties as required

Job Qualifications:

• Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of hatchery support processes, established ISO guidelines, company policies, and state and federal regulations

• Demonstrated leadership skills

• Ability to organize and prioritize departmental needs

• Strong verbal and oral communication skills

• Ability to work effectively with others and interact with all levels of employees

• Ability to effectively resolve conflicts as needed

• Ability to troubleshoot and analyze technical problems

• Working knowledge of computer software including, but not limited to, Word, Excel spreadsheets, and various databases

• Supervisory or lead experience

• Ability to organize and prioritize, and supervise multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines

• Previous hatchery experience preferred
