Job Summary

We seek a Janitorial Operations Manager to oversee and manage janitorial services across multiple client sites in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent service delivery, employee supervision, and overall operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational and communication skills who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-location environment. Please note that this role requires you to drive safely from one location to another.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Employee Management

  • Oversee day-to-day janitorial operations across all assigned accounts to ensure high-quality service and client satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor cleaning standards, safety protocols, and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Identify and resolve service issues promptly; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and maintain efficient scheduling and resource planning to meet client expectations and stay within budget.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and support janitorial staff, including supervisors, team leads, and cleaning personnel.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, safety, and accountability.
  • Ensure employees adhere to company policies and safety regulations.

 

Client Relations and Financial Oversight

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding operational concerns, performance updates, and feedback.
  • Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients to ensure long-term satisfaction and contract retention.
  • Prepare and present periodic performance reports and updates to clients and internal leadership.
  • Monitor labor hours, supplies, and equipment usage to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to employee records, incident reports, schedules, and compliance.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • 4 years of experience in janitorial/cleaning operations management or a similar field.
  • Experience managing multi-site locations preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge of cleaning processes, equipment, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software.
  • Proven ability in providing hands-on training to employees and able to direct teams to produce positive results

 

Travel

Requires driving to different client locations in MD, VA, and DC

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to stand, walk, and inspect facilities for extended periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs when needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, based on operational needs.
