Opto-Mechanical design of packaging for Avicena’s innovative optical interconnects:
- Design and test custom solutions for multi-lane optical connections
- Design and test custom connector designs for multiple optical fibers
- Integrate opto-mechanical designs with micro-lens array, LEDs and Photodiodes
- Design assembly process and tooling/fixtures.
- Build prototype designs to demonstrate key functional elements
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups of engineers to integrate designs into products
- Evaluate packaging solutions from concept to volume production to meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, yield, and cost requirements.
- Generate mechanical component specifications.
- Select and work closely with key suppliers to optimize component design.
- Support development of mechanical/optomechanical test procedures and systems at the component and subsystem levels.
- Contribute to packaging reliability and qualification testing.
- M.S. degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering or related field.
- 5 years experience of opto-mechanical packaging solutions. e.g. Silicon Photonics, Co-packaged Optics, Optical Transceivers or related
- Experience with designing and building optical test stations.
- Hands-on experience with Opto-mechanical design packages such as SolidWorks, Zemax etc.
- Prefer experience with optical fibers, multi-fiber optical connectors and micro-lens technologies
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal/communication skills within the company and with partners, customers, and consultants.
