Hotel Manager
JOB OVERVIEW
The Hotel Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high standards of service. This position reports directly to the General Manager and involves coordinating and supporting hotel staff to deliver top-notch hospitality services.
DUTIES
- Monitor and ensure compliance with operational guidelines and IHG Brand Standards.
- Conduct monthly department meetings to introduce new procedures and gather feedback from employees.
- Address and resolve guest complaints and employee issues promptly.
- Assign tasks to staff members, supervise their performance, and ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures.
- Respond to inquiries regarding hotel policies and services.
- Assist in conducting annual wage scale surveys and ensure compliance with wage guidelines.
- Oversee property hiring practices to meet state and federal requirements.
- Act as the Manager on Duty during weekends.
- Provide training, including safety training, to front office staff as directed by management.
- Assist in selecting Guest Service Agents and scheduling front desk personnel within budget constraints.
- Maintain accurate records such as cash flow sheets, registration cards, and reservation cards.
- Collaborate with group and travel agents to accommodate special requests for rooms and rates.
- Support sales and marketing initiatives as directed by management.
- Assist other departments like housekeeping, maintenance, and F&B as needed.
- Conduct regular staff meetings alongside the management team.

QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates should possess:
- Proficiency in revenue management, phone systems, night audit, front desk operations, hotel management, guest services, human resources, budgeting, customer service, and bilingual skills are advantageous.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Strong leadership skills with the capacity to supervise front desk staff effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to address guest concerns and interact with employees.
- Prior experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry is preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Hotel Manager directly supervises front desk personnel and other designated staff under the guidance of the General Manager. Responsibilities include recruiting, training, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, handling disciplinary actions when necessary, resolving conflicts, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
