The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager, Procurement Operations to oversee procurement activities. This role is crucial in ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the biotechnology or life sciences industry, a deep understanding of commercial scale-up purchasing, supplier relationship management and excellent negotiation skills. This position requires a blend of holistic operational experience, continued drive for efficiency improvements, and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of a biotech company.
What You Will Contribute
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to support daily operations as company needs evolve
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process and purchase order management
- Mentor and manage a team of procurement professionals
- Work closely with stakeholders to align procurement activities with overall business goals
- Monitor and analyze procurement cross-functional processes to drive continuous improvement and optimize P2P cycle to meet growing company needs
- Management of Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and training documentation for the business to ensure system and process changes, updates and improvements are communicated in a timely manner
- Experience working with multiple company entities globally
- Other duties as assigned by manager
What We Seek
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field; relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, C.P.M.) is a plus
- 8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and industry-specific regulations
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, particularly during the transition from R&D to commercialization
- Proficiency in ERP systems, procurement software, and data analytics tools
- Experience with Microsoft D365 F&O a plus
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Team leadership experience cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of cGMP, ISO, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) policies is highly desirable
What We will Provide to You
- The base salary range for this role is $133,000 - $147,000. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors
