What are the responsibilities and job description for the Continuous Improvement Program Manager position at Avient?
The Continuous Improvement Program Manager is an integral part of the Continuous Improvement (CI) organization and a key member of the core CI team. The Continuous Improvement Program Manager actively manages the overall global deployment of Lean Six Sigma programs with a specific focus on overall program initiatives with attention to program performance, structure, analytics and LSS support systems.
Essential Functions
- Manage the logistics and coordination of the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) global training programs; coordinate global LSS training calendar and publish training out on the Loop, LSS SharePoint, and PeopleLink for user registration
- Direct regional support on the execution of training and coaching events within Kaizen Leader and Black Belt programs; ensure superior execution of all training modules by constant review of participant feedback and instructor evaluations.
- Maintain Minitab system integrity. Review quality of data on an ongoing basis, identify issues and implement solutions; work with vendor on understanding the impact of system upgrades to the organization; provide regular updates on the status and use of the overall system; collect and prioritize system request changes; maintain all system documentation.
- Lead Minitab Engage Council to meet initiatives and priorities for overall system efficiency.
- Maintain LSS metrics and financial tracking reporting along with method for communication of results (i.e. executive dashboards); recommend and implement corrective actions where required; manage user adoption rate, system usages and other related metrics. Manage and lead an audit cadence to ensure project integrity and financial performance, ensuring alignment with LSS standards and objectives.
- Manage all user Minitab system access (user activation & deactivation) in accordance with Avient policies; support user inquiries via phone and e-mail; own and update training material as required; provide user training, where required.
- Track program costs by venues, costs per person, monitor expenses versus budget; track expenses for changes and upgrades; develop negotiation strategies and execute process improvements to reduce expenses where appropriate.
- Develop LSS communication strategy including, but not limited to, the LSS SharePoint website, The Loop articles, LSS newsletters, system sign-on messages and awareness events.
- Responsibility for coordination and logistics of project leader certification packets
- Assist in the creation of world class internal processes as developed from LSS initiatives; lead / participate in cross-functional project teams and training events where required.
- Interface with key managers by providing guidance on how to better utilize LSS within their business and functional units. Develop processes to ensure that discipline and rigor are applied with project execution.
