Kitchen and Culinary Team Member
Job Description:
Avila Valley Barn is now taking applications for kitchen help. Our team is looking for someone who both loves the farm and fits in with our self driven, proud, hardworking and good humored team. Avila Valley Barn is a second generation family run business with family like staff.
Hours:
Starting ASAP
8 hour shifts ranging between 7:00am to 3:30pm or 10:00am to 6:30pm
Job Requirements:
- Must have a positive attitude, be self driven, responsible and have the ability to both multitask and problem solve.
- Willingness to learn.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Ability to take task direction.
- Kitchen experience is a plus but not a must.
- Must enjoy a fast paced work environment.
- Must be willing to learn and do all kitchen job requirements i.e. knife work, equipment proficiency, kitchen sanitation, dishwashing, Line and prep work.
- Must be able to lift roughly 50 lbs or less.
- Must be able to walk and stand for long periods.
- Must have reliable transportation.
Job Duties:
- Preparation and assembly of food items.
- Kitchen sanitation i.e. sweeping, moping, and washing all equipment and kitchen spaces.
- Dishwashing
- Make sure the quality and standards of all food produced and served is of the highest quality.
- Customer service and hospitality.
- Monitoring expiration dates and rotating food as needed.
- Assisting in upkeeping health and safety standards.
- Communicating food and kitchen needs.

Compensation:
- Job Starts at $16.50 an hour Plus tips. Tips will increase your hourly wage significantly especially during busy seasons i.e. spring, summer, fall.
