Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, seeks candidates for a Sr. Solution-Level Systems Engineer to support PEO MS, Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office. This position is based in Huntsville, AL.
Job Responsibilities/Duties:
- Support the IFMC Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Mission Command Product Office in developing system-level concepts to address Army Air and Missile Defense challenges.
- Work with contractors, government civilians, and system operators to define solutions involving multiple systems across multiple product offices.
- Define external interfaces, system behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria to support hardware and software engineering teams.
- Lead reviews and adjudicate comments made against system concepts.
- Apply a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach to develop solutions within an Agile development environment.
Required Experience:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of systems engineering experience.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software, hardware, requirements decomposition, or MBSE tools and languages.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work effectively in a small team environment.
- Comfortable working in Agile environments and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure solution feasibility and alignment with user needs.
- Highly organized with a strong technical foundation in systems engineering principles.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Systems engineering experience supporting DoD programs, especially in Army Air and Missile Defense.
- Hands-on experience creating models using Cameo or MagicDraw with SysML and UAF.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with SAFe® Agile methodologies.
