EEG Technician - Neurophysiology Pay And Benefits
- Hourly pay: $45/hr
- Worksite: Leading children's medical institution (Dallas, TX 75235 - Onsite)
- W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
- 40 hours/week, 3 Month Assignment
- Perform EEG records according to the standards of the laboratory (routine, sleep, and bedside recordings).
- Measure and accurately apply electrodes in a timely manner, according to the International 10-20 System; ensure that electrode impedances meet laboratory standards.
- Write a patient history gathering appropriate information from patient, patient's record and family members to includeseizure types, date of last seizure, other neurological symptomatology, and medications; explain test procedure to patient andfamily members present.
- Implement alternative methods or adjusts controls to obtain optimal recording. This may include appropriate control settingchanges on the machine, use of extra electrodes, extra montages and use of activation procedures.
- Recognize artifact (patient or environmental); document, eliminate or take proper measures to monitor the artifact.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and repair them or report to supervisor promptly.Participate in conferences and technical meetings.
- Understand how own duties relate to others in the team and has an awareness of how the team integrates with others.
- Manage own workload by applying an understanding of team priorities; may provide assistance to less experienced colleagues.
- Recognize and solve typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluate and select predefined solutions from established operating procedures.
- Impact the performance of own team through the quality of the services or information provided.
- Follow standardized procedures and practices and receive regular but moderate supervision and guidance.
- Communicate moderately complex technical information in straightforward situations.
- 1 years of job-related experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school.
- Graduate of an Accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or equivalent formal training (college-level course work will be considered in science area will be considered).
- Certification in basic cardiac life support.
- Experience working in EEG or Epilepsy Monitoring Unit setting.
