What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Avita Care Solutions?
The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Accounting and will be responsible for various full cycle accounting duties. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who works well both independently and with others.
This is an onsite position based in Baton Rouge, LA (10604 Coursey Boulevard.)
The work schedule/hours are Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
About the Role:
- Responsible for preparing and reviewing financial records, ensuring accuracy, reconciling accounts, and providing financial insights to support business decisions.
- Will perform accounting functions such as booking journal entries, maintaining various prepaid and accrual accounts.
- Prepare and reconciles retail cost of goods reports monthly, and work with the inventory department and wholesalers on any discrepancies.
- Assists with yearly financial audit preparation, and other audits
- Performs assigned tasks for new store openings, closures and acquisitions
- Assists in 340B Payable account reconciliation reviews and journal entry preparation.
- Compiles a weekly forecasting on wholesaler payments
- Embraces and perform in the spirit of the Company’s core values and goals
- Other related duties as assigned
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred), Finance, Business, or closely related field of study
- 1 to 2 years of related experience preferred
- Experience in healthcare/pharmacy industry a plus
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite with proficiency in Excel
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem solving
- Detail-oriented, but also able to multitask and function well in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical and organizational skills
- Willing and able to work a flexible schedule as needed during busy times of the month, quarter, year-end, etc.
