Residents participate at their own pace and shine through dynamic activity involvement. What you will be doing:

What you will be doing:
- Maintain a positive working relationship with residents, family members, associates and vendors.
- Maintain a high degree of resident, family and guest satisfaction and retention through consistent delivery of high-quality services.
- Effectively and appropriately communicate with each co-worker and community leader.
- Maintain a positive image with the community and an atmosphere of stability.
- Coordinate and facilitate activities and events for residents, both inside and outside the community, designed to promote resident’s creativity, physical and mental well-being, socialization, and fun!
- Encourage resident socialization and participation in activities and events.
- Maintain inventory checklist of all supplies and materials required to enhance life enrichment program.
- Assign tasks to volunteers and encourage their participation in community events and activities programs.
- Keep an activity calendar and perform other administrative duties.
- Help welcome new residents upon move-in (balloons and framed announcement, shadow box/shelves decorated, etc.)
- Work alongside care staff to transport residents to activities and events.
- Drive a community vehicle if needed to transport residents if driver not available.
- Continue to develop job related knowledge, skills and abilities by participating in continuing educational opportunities for personal growth and development.
- Have regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- One to two years of related work experience preferred
- valid Ohio driver's license and good driving record.
General knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Ability to work with the elderly in a courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating patience and compassion.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of state regulations in assisted living
- Ability to always perform duties with consideration for residents' rights and demonstrate integrity and discretion in the care of residents and in handling their health information.
- Skilled in caring for residents with physical, hearing or memory impairments and secondary diagnosis.
- Ability to read and write in English
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Leadership, motivational, and public speaking skills. Creative, organized, and motivated.
Technical/ Wellness and Fitness Skills
Ability to develop and implement enthusiastic programming to foster the Aviva Senior Living Mission of “Providing quality housing that makes lives better”. Ability to evaluate the fitness status of individuals, set up individualized fitness programs that are safe and effective, and operate and facilitate use of fitness equipment if needed. Experience working with exercise and health programs for the apparently healthy and special needs populations. Knowledge of practices and procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to senior living care. Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, interpret, and manage programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and resources necessary to provide quality care. Computer literacy/experience required.
