About the Role:
The Materials Handler III will be primarily responsible for Contract Manufacturer materials management, shipping materials, inventory related tasks, supporting order fulfillment, and entering ERP transactions for a medical device company. The work environment is fast-paced and the need for quality and accuracy are critical. The ability to keep pace, see problems in advance and still maintain the highest work standards are required.
\n- Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers (CM) to review any materials demand and shipping schedules needed to maintain clear to build expectations.
- Pick materials, as directed, for shipments to Contract Manufacturers (CM)
- Arrange, prepare paperwork and monitor international shipment across the organization, including shipment of lithium ion batteries.
- Review/sign-off finished shipments and perform packaging activities
- Help pick materials for manufacturing work orders as needed
- Support the fulfillment department to pick, pack and ship customer orders
- Transact/transfer materials within the ERP system.
- Other duties as assigned
- Ensure all materials have been received and accounted for at each CM site and Avive
- Conducts periodic inventory accuracy audits for each CM site and Avive
- Maintains inventory accuracy at 98%
- Manages continuous improvement program materials related projects.
- Document lot numbers and expiration dating in the ERP system according to existing processes
- Perform backflush transactions after production at the CM and Avive and review for accuracy
- Conduct periodic inventory cycle counts
- Maintains a clean, orderly work area, and performs Material Handling
- Collaborate with other team members when capacity becomes constrained
- High school/GED degree required or equivalent to 3-5 years previous experience in materials handling and inventory control
- Experience in medical device or other regulated environment a plus
- Strong knowledge of ERP system (Netsuite) transfers, transactions and reports
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and oversight
- Customer service oriented with both internal and external customers
- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential
- Working safely, accurately, and quickly are the key to being successful in this position
- Good verbal and written skills required, competent in basic math concepts
- International shipping experience
- Domestic Fulfillment experience
- Forklift certified
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be physically able to move heavy materials
- Some computer/software skills required; knowledge of Excel preferred
- Li-ion battery shipment preparation and documentation certification
- Experience in authoring and updating SOPs preferred
- Cross trained in a minimum of 1-2 other materials/warehouse roles
