Your Role:
As a Housing Navigator, you will work to enhance family well-being and meet the basic needs of individuals enrolled in the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP). Your focus will be on helping participants achieve stable and sustainable shelter while promoting empowerment and self-sufficiency.
Work a 32/hr. reduced work week and get paid for 40 hours (pay adjustment will be reflected in our verbal offer).
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Engage participants to increase access to affordable housing and resources for stable shelter.
- Develop individualized plans and connect participants with public and private resources to meet their goals.
- Build partnerships with landlords, property managers, and housing authorities to secure housing opportunities.
- Conduct assessments to determine appropriate referrals and services to support participants.
- Advocate for participants and their families in achieving housing and self-sufficiency goals.
- Provide culturally responsive services through person-centered approaches and best practices.
- Foster partnerships with community organizations and MFIP vendors for additional participant support.
- Maintain accurate case files, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Promote Avivo services to businesses, communities, and other stakeholders.
- Actively participate in Avivo’s commitment to undoing racism and reducing disparities.
Qualifications
What You Offer:

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field, or five years of equivalent experience in human services or case management.
- Experience working with families and providing case management services.
- Valid driver's license and proof of valid insurance and clean driving record.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in MS Office and database systems.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding HIPAA standards.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of grants, funding sources, and services for individuals with barriers.
- Experience navigating services such as housing, financial counseling, and mental health support.
