Brief Description
R&S Northeast and AvKARE are seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on developing and maintaining advanced data solutions, providing actionable insights to stakeholders, and supporting strategic business decisions through robust data analysis and visualization.
The ideal candidate will develop and maintain our data warehouse, create intuitive dashboards, and automate data processes. Collaborating with analysts and IT teams, the engineer will develop data models, ensure data governance, and serve as a Subject Matter Expert in reporting and analytics. Success in this position requires strong technical skills in SQL, data visualization, and shell scripting, coupled with excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Must be able to travel as required with the ability to sit and stand for extended periods. Work environment is usually performed in a home, office or customer setting. Lift and carry computer equipment weighing up to 25 lbs. Requires use of a computer, copier, fax, phone and other standard office equipment. Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment. Body motor skills sufficient to move from one location to another.

Must be willing to travel assigned geography which will include daily and some overnight travel up to 10%

- Develop complex data queries using SQL and analyze data to identify trends and insights.
- Implement data visualization tools to create reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Develop shell scripting skills to automate data processing tasks.
- Collaborate with data analysts to develop data models and data governance policies.
- Develop and maintain our data warehouse.
- Provide analytics and insights to business stakeholders to inform business decisions.
- Develop and maintain linked data sets to enable data sharing and collaboration.
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in data analysis and visualization.
- The Business Intelligence Engineer will perform detailed requirements analysis, develop, and assist the business during user acceptance testing.
- The Business Intelligence Engineer will serve as the Subject Matter Expert to the organization's core reporting/analytics while also coordinating with development resources.
- To succeed in this role, Analyst will demonstrate highly organized and detail-oriented work habits, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.
- 3 years of experience in data analysis, software development, and data visualization.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, including data modeling, data governance, and data quality.
- Experience with ETL tools, data visualization tools, and data analytics platforms.
- Proficiency in SQL and shell scripting.
- Experience with linked data and data sharing platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficient in gathering requirements from business users
- Skilled in problem determinations, root cause analysis, resolution delivery
- Adept at coordinating activities among developers, business users, and other IT functional areas.
- Excellent team player with a proven background of individual contribution who works well with technical and non-technical resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be focused on delivering business service needs.

- 5 years of experience in Oracle SQL Developer Command Line (SQLcl), Splash Bi and Oracle Datawarehouse.
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions, including AWS.
- Experience using the following applications Zoho Suite, Manage Engine (Service Desk)
- Proficient in technical writing of process flows within application like Microsoft Visio
- Experience in change management adhering to ITIL
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
