Job Title: Production Supervisor
Location: Salem, NH
Purpose of Position:
Supervise and manage all functions involved in the production of Team Wendy Ceradyne products in a safe and cost-effective manner. Responsible for direct supervision of production on personnel across 2-shifts (7-days), training, safety performance, product quality, productivity, employee communications, employee morale and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet Plant goals in safety, quality, compliance, service, productivity, and employee morale.
- Ensure a safe working environment through formal inspections, correcting unsafe behaviors, leading safety discussions, and utilizing proper work methods, procedures, and equipment.
- Drive quality adherence to specifications and procedures and participate in quality improvements on the floor.
- Determine daily production priorities from master delivery schedule and allocate work assignments (schedule) in coordination with shift leads.
- Report on daily production outputs for managed shifts.
- Provides necessary feedback and utilize corrective action to resolve conflict and maintain business standards using accepted Human Resource principles.
- Manages training of employees on all aspects of the manufacturing processes and operations.
- Utilizes available resources to resolve process, maintenance, equipment and/or related technical problems in coordination with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, and Facilities/Maintenance.
- Schedules changeovers to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Analyzes and interprets statistical process data charts to identify trends and determine improvement plans.
- Must have ability to perform initial troubleshooting of quality issues including visual and physical inspections of products and tooling.
- Manages workmanship program for Production Operations for specific shifts managed.
- Supports and understands Lean Six Sigma concepts and principles and maintains daily 5S requirements compliance through active participation and leading Kaizen events.
- Promote crew morale through direct involvement with each person in department operations, value each person's input and follow through on suggestions for improvement.
- Provide effective communication to employees through Tier meetings, crew meetings, electronic mail, etc.
- Must drive issues from problem identification through corrective action with minimal oversight.
- Applies acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks

Background & Skills:Minimum five (5) years of manufacturing experience or a bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of experience is normally required to fulfill the expectations of this position.
- Position requires knowledge of process equipment such as presses, milling machines, fabric cutting systems, instrumentation/controls, etc.
- Required leadership experience, communication, problem solving, mechanical, computer, administrative, and short-term planning skills are required to perform the duties in this position.
- Must be able to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, in English Language (bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred)
- Must be able to create, lead, and work in a team atmosphere and be sensitive to employee ideas and issues that may impact morale, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Competent in, and possess the ability to teach, the basic concepts of Lean Six Sigma and 5S principles preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to produce results through continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
