Job Title: Quality Technician - 2nd Shift
Location: Salem, NH
Purpose of Position:
Avon Protection is recognized as a world leader in respiratory and ballistic protection, delivering life critical solutions for Militaries and First Responders worldwide. We are searching for a driven, detail-orientated engineering technician to join our Quality team. The person hired for the position of Quality Technician is responsible for following documented procedures for inspection of Thermoplastic composite molded products and processes under minimal supervision, as well may be required to assist in the disposition of material under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer and or Quality Supervisor.
Essential duties and/or Functions:
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Observe all Safety rules and regulations
- Observe all Avon Protection Ceradyne Employee Guidelines
- Performs assigned standard tests, experiments, inspections, and other tasks using established procedures required for product development, process scale-ups, or production process. The employee performs work under general supervision.
- Performs standard tests, inspections, and other tasks to determine specific characteristics of materials, in-process and final product samples as required to ensure quality products. Performs mathematical calculations of test data in order to compare results to standards and identify variances. Interprets Statistical Process Control Charts. Participates in the establishment of new product specifications and the solution of defects resulting from existing products and processes.
- Documents and interprets test results, maintains records, and prepares detailed reports as required. Communicates test results to appropriate staff. Responds to standard inquiries.
- Completes special requests from engineers, group leaders and/or supervisor. Participates as a team member on problem solving teams.
- Demonstrate a level of knowledge required to make decisions and adjustments when required, under operational and or quality management oversight.
- Actively participates in Lean processes or projects (standard work reviews, Tier 1 meeting, Kaizen events)
- Proactively initiates personal learning in additional work areas, processes and Lean manufacturing practices
This position may require:
- Weekend work
- Working overtime
- Working on holidays as needed
- Short notice shift coverage
Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
• Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing experience
• Minimum 2 years of Quality experience
• Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing experience
• Minimum 2 years of Quality experience
Preferred/Desired Skills or Experiences:
• Associate or bachelor's degree
• Experience in quality inspection
• Skills include organization and attention to detail
• Experience with ISO9001:2015

The anticipated hourly range for candidates who will work in Salem, NH is $20 to $30 hourly. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, type and years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
