We are looking for the right person to offer our patients the “Concierge” experience for a very busy specialty clinic.
This position will require excellent communication skills and a warmth that is inviting to our patients. Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling and /or following up on New Patient appointments to ensure that our patients come prepared and feel welcomed to our AVORS Family
This position will involve working directly with the Practice Manager for training and workflow design.
Other Essential Functions:
Performs such activities as:
- Handle incoming phone calls at a high volume
- Check-in / Check-out patients
- Prepare Registration forms and assist patient with completion
- Enter demographics and insurance
- Collect co-pays and balances
Additional responsibilities
- Under the direction of the supervisor, conducts on the job training for new employees
- Provides backup relief for other receptionists as needed
- Performs work of equal skill, effort and responsibility as directed
- Assist Physicians and other staff as needed
- Must be willing to perform any duties asked by management or physicians
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical insurance
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understand and observe legal concepts (e.g. HIPAA, confidentiality)
- Ability to type accurately and comfortable with computers
- Become a key contributor to the enhancement of the quality of patient care as a necessary part of a medical team.
- Multi-task efficiently and effectively as required.
- Work under pressure, within time constraints. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and stoop for prolonged periods of time, intermittently throughout an 8-hour shift.
Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate/GED
- 2 years’ Medical Receptionist experience
- Customer Service experience with preferred training
- 2 years’ EHR experience
