Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a self-starter on modernization efforts, providing technical documentation for the transition to Microsoft Power Platform.
- Identify gaps in current systems and recommend actionable solutions.
- Produce clear documentation to support technical and strategic decisions.
- Lead collaboration across teams to map and analyze legacy vs. future system data ownership and migration readiness.
- Develop and maintain an Enterprise Architecture strategic framework aligning business processes, technology, and information for optimized decision-making.
- Document architecture across Data, Applications, Networks, Infrastructure, and Security.
- Provide recommendations to ensure the architecture remains current and standards-compliant.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Responsible for planning and engineering of an organization's cloud computing infrastructure and applications;
- Designs cloud-based hardware and software solutions. Expertise in standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technologies.
- Demonstrates expertise in wide variety of Cloud models such as Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
- Synthesizes architecture guidelines and strategies from a broad stakeholder set to transform logical models into physical architectures, designs and implementations;
- Designing and addressing key architecture considerations for cloud systems;
- Resolving issues regarding technology components responsible for performing functional capabilities, or determining how technologies will communicate when responsibility must be shared across technologies; and
- Publishing, updating and ensuring that the architecture models meet business requirements and architecture standards.
- Practitioner of systems development processes and methodologies;
- Ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional, multi-Service Provider work teams;
- Familiarity with relational database technologies and capabilities;
- Knowledge of relevant industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations and trendsetters;
- Ability to justify project, equipment or staffing expenditures by identifying, cost, benefits and associated risks;
- Special contextual knowledge of implementation designs and the cost modeling associate with developing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models.
- Ability to work with others in a constructive and collaborative manner;
- Ability to think critically; to recognize and anticipate a problem (technical, operational, process, organizational) and to identify and implement the best solution in a timely manner;
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills;
- Knowledge and understanding of marketplace experience, developments and trends related to the Information Technology function;
- Experience with scalability and performance issues related data bases.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Understanding of programming at an enterprise level and ability to demonstrate problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Database knowledge, understanding relationships, data types, and data mapping.
- Strong ability to be a self-starter in documentation with the ability to deliver to management for decisions and collaboration.
- Understanding Microsoft Power Platform, Java, and COBOL environments.
- Working knowledge of Data, Applications, Networks, Infrastructure, and Security architectures.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Past governmental modernization experience is preferred, as well as enterprise architecture experience.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure.
Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree required with an information technology focus (preferred); and at least Ten (10) years of experience in technical roles in technically complex environments.
- Or an MBA or advanced degree and at least 8 years of experience in technical roles in technically complex environments.
- At least 2 years of experience as a technical cloud architect and/or technical cloud lead.
- Industry Certifications in an area of expertise preferred.
