Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in monitoring fabrication work, with preferred knowledge and certifications in welding and non-destructive examination (NDE). You will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our quality management system, adhering to Client specifications and industry standards, and utilizing various inspection tools and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections at supplier facilities to ensure compliance with specified requirements, including drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Attend inspection activities according to approved Inspection and Test Plan.
- Witness test activities i e Visual and dimensional, pressure, PMI, NDT, etc.) are performed in compliance with the latest approved technical data sheet, test procedures, supplier internal standard operating procedures and quality standards.
- Manage the nonconformance events according to the instructions received.
- Review supplier documentation, including inspection reports, material certificates, and test records, to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to address any discrepancies or non-conformances identified during inspections.
- Maintain detailed inspection records and documentation in accordance with company procedures and client requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to provide timely and accurate feedback on inspection findings.
- Issuing a detailed Inspection Report in the due time and a signed Inspection Release Note (when all required tests and inspections are satisfactorily completed and all technical documentation has been reviewed and found to be in compliance with the applicable requirements: Taking photos during Inspection activity.
- Be medically fit and with a valid eye test exam.
- Follow all HSE requirements of client and the supplier workshops.
- Immediately report any unsafe conditions which he/she feels may place he/her or others in danger while at a worksite.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in engineering technology or science plus five years of welding / materials experience; OR a high school graduate or equivalent plus seven years of welding / materials experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with suppliers effectively and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, with access to necessary equipment and tools for inspections.
- Flexibility to travel to supplier locations as needed.
- Knowledge and certifications in welding and non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
