Position Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
Support the sales activities for Drivetrain products. Core activities are as follows (but not limited to):
- Analyze cost received from overseas and local counterparts based on respective product and manufacturing process.
- Build piece price and tooling quotations and submit to customers on time, by understanding the products, target & market price for the products, manufacturing processes, cost structures and profit potential.
- Negotiate pricing with each customer's Purchasing personnel based on submitted quotations, data, and logic.
- Develop and execute short and long-term sales plans based on gathered account data/information, considering product, AISIN, customer and market conditions.
- Support the launch of new programs or ECI’s by tracking open issues and risks, recovering costs, and reporting profitability.
- Conduct regular meetings with various departments (including internal, overseas, North American Plants and customer) to share program status and review open issues.
- Support AISIN cross-functional teams in their daily activities and drive issues to closure.
- Operate with "cross-functional" and “team” mindset and be willing to take on additional responsibilities as dictated by business environment.
Required Skills and Abilities
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Related experience, including internship or Co-op, in a professional environment, ideally automotive.
- Proven critical thinking skills and data-driven decision making.
- Strong organization skills (e.g. issue prioritization, time management, consistent and diligent record-keeping, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer expertise (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint).
- Global mindset to work with international counterparts.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with OEM purchasing procedures and systems, in particular Toyota and Honda.
- Sales experience or internship in the automotive industry, preferably with a Tier One supplier relating to Drivetrain products (e.g. transmissions, transfer cases, electric motors, etc.)
- Project Management experience and / or prior use of MS Project.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science or Business.
