- Plans, organizes, and coordinates the daily operations and activities within the Early Head Start site.
- Provides leadership, collaboration and coordination for curriculum implementation.
- Plans and provides educational information and staff development opportunities to meet the needs of education staff and nutrition staff, families, and children served.
Requirements
Talents, skills, and abilities:
- Comprehensive working knowledge of early childhood education, including theories and principles of human growth and development, broad working knowledge relative to the needs of low income children, including experiences with exceptional needs;
- Ability to relate positively to young children, parents and staff;
- Requires knowledge and experience in data collection and information processes and systems
- Computer literacy including database management, spreadsheet, word processing, internet, email.
- Ability to form professional relationships with a diverse group of people
- Ability to lead, motivate, supervise and partner with a team of professionals serving low-income families;
- Demonstrated administrative ability to plan, organize, direct, evaluate, and refine comprehensive services to children and their families;
- Ability to establish long range vision of program goals and accomplishments;
- Ability to use abstract reasoning, problem solving, planning and analytical skills in budget development, program goals and objectives development, staff monitoring and evaluation;
- Willingness to work flexible hours in order to meet the needs of the program;
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Training and training development for small and large groups.
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, philosophy and mission, desirable.
- Ability to long distance travel to AWARE EHS Montana service areas, some overnights required.
- Must have a valid Montana driver’s license and liability insurance.
- Requires an AA degree in Early Childhood Education, in addition to direct employment related experience.
- Requires at least two (2) years of employment experience working with families and children aged 0 – 5 in an educational setting with a demonstrated knowledge of program planning, early childhood assessment and family systems.
- Requires two (2) year’s supervisory experience.
- Head Start/Early Head Start experience preferred.
