Art and Wellness Enterprises (AWE) is seeking a skilled, highly motivated, and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as Drone Operator. AWE supports operating non-profits founded by Alice Walton including the Alice L. Walton Foundation, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine, Art Bridges, Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, the Momentary, and Heartland Whole Health Institute.

About the Position:

The Drone Operator will assist the General Maintenance team with projects and maintenance related to, but not limited to, the inspections and washing of the windows, doors, roofs, and walls of the facilities on Campus. Although the position requires some scheduling flexibility, its work schedule is primarily 40 hours per week. 

What you will do:

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate and control drones in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct pre-flight inspections to ensure the drone is in proper working condition.
• Plan and execute drone flights according to project requirements, ensuring the safety of personnel and property.
• Daily maintenance of facility exteriors.
• Daily maintenance of facility windows.
• Maintain and clean drone equipment regularly, ensuring optimal performance.
• Keep accurate records of flight activities, maintenance, and any incidents or accidents that may occur.
• Responds to maintenance needs through the centralized maintenance management system.
• Assist in the planning of projects involving the drone, as well as clean up afterward.
• Assist other Facility Team Members with special projects. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications required for your success:

• Valid Drone Pilot License: Must possess or the ability to receive a FAA’s part 107 pilot’s certificate issued by the appropriate regulatory authority.
• Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal regulations regarding drone operations, including airspace restrictions, flight restrictions, and privacy laws.
• Experience in flying a similar model drone.
• Proficient in operating drones using remote controls and autonomous flight software.
• Effective communication to teams and departments impacted preflight planning and execution.
• Highest ethics as they relate to all aspects of business. 
• Enthusiastic about being a member of a team maintaining facilities at a major community center.
• Excellent people and customer service skills that are based on courtesy, respect, and approachability.
• Strong organizational skills. 
• Trouble shooting/ analyzing systems – Problem Solving Skills. 
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., basic computer skills. 
• Effectively use a variety of hand and power tools. 
• Ability to learn our centralized maintenance management system. 
• Ability to effectively contribute to a project team dynamic. 
• Ability to cross train with the Facilities department and perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to understand and maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.

Physical demands: In the work environment described, position requires verbal and written conversation with others, sitting, standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching, strenuous lifting/moving objects up to 75 pounds, and use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Work Environment: Work will be performed in an office environment, museum spaces, construction site, classrooms, libraries, trails, and nature, and in communities served. Work environment may include exposure to potentially hazardous chemical solutions. While performing this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. Incumbent must meet a flexible work schedule that may include evenings, and weekends and available on-call for emergencies.
