AWI is a property management company specializing in providing property management services for affordable housing communities. We provide full management to property owners from onsite personnel to our corporate office.

We are actively looking for personnel to fill “Property Bookkeeper / Accountant” positions in our accounting department.

Compensation

23.00 - $28.00 / hour based on experience.

Final compensation offered will be based on a combination of experience and transferable qualifications discovered in the hiring process.

Position Duties :

  • Auditing deposits made by site personnel to ensure correct postings to the bank and property management software (RealPage)
  • Daily postings to the accounting system and property management software
  • Monitoring cash flow in bank accounts
  • Auditing property management database and GL for accuracy
  • Researching and correcting entries
  • Processing security deposit settlements
  • Reconciling bank statements monthly
  • Provide assistance and guidance to site personnel as well as other departments in the company
  • Help with the implementation of rent changes / utility changes
  • Balance and facilitate the property management software for each month in a timely manner
  • Balance the financials monthly
  • Reviewing and preparing Property Tax bills for payment
  • Transmitting necessary documents to affordable housing agencies in a timely manner
  • Working on special projects as needed throughout the year

Position Requirements :

  • Highschool Diploma / GED with two years relevant accounting experience OR an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in accounting with 0-2 years relevant experience
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Microsoft Office 365 experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Reliable transportation, and are authorized to work in the United States
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Be accountable, dependable, and reliable while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to work independently, but asks for assistance when needed and appreciates feedback
  • Understands the importance of teamwork and collaboration to a department and company’s success as a whole
  • Experience in an accounting software such as RealPage and Timberline
  • Experience in LIHTC / affordable housing
  • Reconciling bank / credit card reconciliations and GL entries
  • Takes pride in one’s work
