Print and Graphics Production Department Manager - Urgently Hiring!!!
AI Innovations is a wholesale only sign, channel letter, and awning manufacturer that serves retail sign and awning companies across the U.S. since 1999. We are now one of the largest wholesale-only sign designer, fabricator and manufacturer in the country by both square footage and employee manpower. We serve customers nationwide from our two locations near Indianapolis, Indiana and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
We are seeking a reliable and motivated professional to join our team as Graphics Department Manager. The Graphics Manager will direct the Graphics team of production of projects, facilitating communication and collaboration amongst departments to solve problems, maintain project schedules and drive projects to completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Oversees the day-to-day workflow and output of the department, prioritizing and assigning projects.
- Provides guidance and leadership on projects; creates and implements additional training and development as needed.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Responsible for daily and weekly labor reports.
- Attends daily production meeting to provide project status updates.
- Schedules and leads regular departmental meetings to discuss projects and priorities for team members and to address questions or concerns regarding company policies and procedures.
- Assists team members with projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications :
At least 5 years of experience with UV flatbed printing.At least 1 year of experience roll to roll printing.At least 1 year experience using rip software to inspect and send print files to printer.Ability to color match – Print operators are expected to color match PMS swatches, paint samples, and vinyl samples. Managers will assist in dialing in colors and approving color matches.Ability to read paperwork and rip files.At least 1 year experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and RIP software is required. We currently use Firey FX, Adobe FX, Adobe Suite, and Flexi Design.Vinyl cutting / plotting experience and lamination and graphic application experience is a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent sense of design.Thorough understanding of typography, drawing, and lettering techniques.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Understanding of or ability to learn, art and print methods that relate to the organization’s product and packaging needs.Positive attitude – must embody a positive, solution-oriented outlook.Strong work ethic - Some weeks will require you to work past 40hrs. AI is a project-oriented facility that will fluctuate your schedule at times to fit the project completion dates. We will expect flexibility in your schedule to meet these deadlines. This part of the job can be stressful, but it’s necessary in order to complete the work that needs to be done. Half days on Saturdays every so often are not out of the ordinary.Organization and Detail oriented - This skill set will be necessary to catch potential print problems and prevent / limit rework on projects. Organization will also help to accurately log materials which are regularly audited by the inventory department.Punctuality - Show up ready to work at 7 : 00am.Fitness - Able to lift 50lbs, 48” & 60” printing rolls, moving 4x8 .25” thick acrylic substrates.Minimum of 5 years management experienceSalary will be commensurate with experience.
