SGI’s Marketing Operations(MO) Team is looking for an intelligent, articulate, dynamic, quality-minded Print Procurement Project Manager (PPPM) to join our team. With demonstrated project management experience and a strong background in commercial and digital printing; the Print Procurement Project Manager plays an integral role in supporting SGI’s supply chain initiatives by leading the printing and finishing production for our clients’ marketing communication materials. As the key subject matter expert (SME) for print production, the PPPM is responsible for advising SGI Account Managers, coordinating with our clients’ creative agency partners and collaborating with internal partners regarding production execution of marketing materials.
Key Deliverables :
Project Management Capabilities :
Gather accurate information from clients / agencies / SGI staff formulating full production specifications (scope of project, budget requirements, production alternatives, timeline milestones) to generate creative and print production specifications used in the sourcing process
Track, manage and report on project timelines throughout the print lifecycle while also ensuring on-time delivery and high quality all within budget
Manage high volumes of work with tight timelines
Subject Matter Expert :
Advise on economic formats, process (digital, offset, screen, CMYK, SPOT), substrates, finishing, etc., working with material owners, and / or agencies, and / or internal SGI staff to derive cost effective solutions for print projects
Provide technical input and advice on print projects and identify potential risks
Ensure print deliverables are on-brand (based on client style guidelines) and consistent in terms of style and quality
Act as gatekeeper and approver for all proofing of assigned print materials including, but not limited to, Digital, Bluelines, Match prints / Epson’s, Draw Down’s, Mock-ups, and Press Checks
Internal & External Collaboration :
Build connections by positioning yourself as the SME in print-related matters; approach from a perspective of education and information to establish and maintain SME status with internal and external partners by creating enduring relationships based on mutual trust, respect and competence
As needed, identify new vendor partners, manage relationship expectations and understand each supplier’s core competencies
Quality Management :
Maintain detailed job history information and sample library
Ensure print deliverables comply with industry regulations
Execute standards, systems, and best practices (both human and technological) for all print deliverables and documenting workflows for sourcing, proofing receiving and archiving
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years print-related experience and / or project management experience required
Demonstrated expertise of printing, finishing processes, and proofing procedures for both Digital and Offset Printing; Packing production experience a plus but not required
Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and InDesign a plus
Working knowledge of online collaborate sourcing and regulatory tools such as Veeva also a plus
Other Requirements
Travel within Indianapolis up to 25%; travel outside of Indianapolis as needed
