What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Agent & Event Coordinator position at AWOL Stowe?

AWOL is looking for a hospitality professional with a sales mindset to assist in helping grow our hotel. You will serve as a Guest Service Agent and Event Coordinator. Providing our guests with an unforgettable experience at our hotel, in addition to attracting new guests to increase our revenue.

You'll be in charge of responding to guest inquiries, contacting potential new guests based on networking and referral leads, and assisting with administrative tasks and event coordination. We are looking for someone with exceptional communication skills as well as previous sales experience. Please apply as soon as possible if this describes you!

Compensation :

20 - $22 per hour plus commission

Responsibilities :

Guest Services & Front Desk Operations :

Greet guests warmly and efficiently check them in and out of the hotel.
Answer guest inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive guest experience during their stay.
Handle reservations, room assignments, and billing in a timely and professional manner.
Ensure all guest requests and complaints are promptly addressed, escalating issues as needed.
Maintain accurate guest records and data entry in the hotel management system.
Make and serve hand crafted cocktails to hotel guests and external customers
Make and serve bar food menu
Prep food for breakfast, evening menu and bar
Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the lodge, bathrooms, bar and kitchen

Sales & Group Coordination :

Manage and process group bookings, ensuring proper accommodations are arranged for events, meetings, or special group needs.

Assist in the creation and execution of groups, weddings, and events

Coordinate with all departments to ensure smooth operations for group bookings and events.

Work events as the event coordinator.

Provide detailed information and quotes to potential clients regarding group rates, meeting spaces, and additional services.

Develop relationships with local businesses and organizations to drive group sales opportunities.

Follow up with group clients post-event to gather feedback and foster future business.

Qualifications :

Previous experience in a hotel front desk or customer service role is required.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in group coordination or event management.

Knowledge of local attractions and venues to assist in group planning.
