Payroll Specialist
Remote - East Coast Schedule
6 Month Contract

Position Overview : We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a fully remote role with flexible start times between 7 am to 8 am (8-hour shifts) (East Coast Schedule) . This position will transition to full-time employment after six months based on performance. Candidates can work from any time zone and should be prepared for potential overtime as needed.
Key Responsibilities :
Process payrolls regularly and prepare accurate payroll reports.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of employee timesheets.
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve related issues promptly.
Support payroll audits and ensure compliance with payroll tax deposits for federal and state authorities.
Communicate relevant tax legislation and internal processes where applicable.
Assist with payroll report reconciliations.
Research and prioritize payroll tax notices with the Payroll Tax Analyst.
Manage incoming payroll-related mail and take appropriate action.
Monitor and update state and local tax accounts for all business entities.
Requirements : (Needs to be in the resume, especially job history)
3-5 years of payroll experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and Workday.
Familiarity with U.S., Canadian, and Puerto Rican tax regulations is highly preferred.
Minimum of a 2-year degree.
Solid knowledge of federal and multi-state tax regulatory requirements.
Ability to work closely with the Senior Tax Analyst (approximately 90% of the time).
Additional Information :
Reporting to the manager in EST.
The interview process consists of two steps : an initial interview with the Hiring Manager, followed by a second interview with the Senior Tax Analyst and HR.
