Description :
POSITION SUMMARY : Operates various equipment in the metal prep area to feed parts to weld and fabrication.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS : Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety and product quality.
Comply with all Safety guidelines / procedures implemented by the company.
Operate CNC torch tables and other CNC machines with no assistance.
Inspect, clean, deburr, and package parts as required by job traveler.
Make tooling offset changes as needed to ensure part quality.
Perform tool and insert changes. Inspect all tooling before use as required for good quality. Perform change over and set ups on repeat production parts.
Complete First Piece Inspection sheet on new setups as required.
Complete Operator TPM and 5-S checks daily.
Perform machine adjustments, and minor maintenance and lubrication.
Begin to learn from others and develop trouble-shooting skills.
Utilizes MS office products to document and track improvements.
May read and interpret blueprints (product specific).
Begin to instruct others and develop trouble-shooting skills.
Learn from other senior operators and begin to develop trouble-shooting skills.
Keep machines in good repair. Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS - FORMAL EDUCATION Required : High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE Required : Machine Tool Technology training.
SAP experience.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Proficient in the use of hand tools.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.
Must be able to climb and descend stairs.
Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
May work indoors and outdoors as needed.
Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.
May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.
May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.
Work surfaces may include concrete.
Employee must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone. 3-5 years experience
