Forklift Operator / CNC Machine Operator (2nd Shift)
Shift : 2 : 00 PM - 10 : 30 PM
Overtime : Available
Pay rate : $20 - $22
Position Summary :
This role is responsible for operating various equipment in the metal preparation area, feeding parts to welders and fabricators, and ensuring the smooth operation of CNC machines.
Core Responsibilities and Tasks :
- Adhere to all workplace safety and product quality policies and guidelines.
- Operate CNC torch tables and other CNC machinery independently, ensuring proper feeding of parts for welding and fabrication.
- Inspect, clean, deburr, and package parts according to job specifications.
- Make tooling offset adjustments and perform tool changes to maintain part quality.
- Perform machine setup and changeovers for repeat production runs.
- Complete First Piece Inspection for new setups and perform regular TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and 5-S checks.
- Make minor machine adjustments and lubrication as needed.
- Develop troubleshooting skills by learning from senior operators.
- Use MS Office for documentation and tracking improvements.
- Occasionally read and interpret blueprints.
- Provide guidance to other operators as you develop your skills.
- Maintain machines in good repair and complete other assigned tasks.
Position Requirements :
Formal Education :
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent).
Knowledge & Experience :
- Training in Machine Tool Technology.
- SAP experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Good communication skills (both oral and written).
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and forklift operation.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to sit, stand, hear, and see for extended periods.
- Frequent walking, writing, and typing.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to climb stairs and occasionally bend, reach, push, and pull.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels (hearing protection may be required), and dust.
- Work may take place indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to operate a computer and communicate by phone.
