Chemical Technician (Downstream Chemicals)

This is an on-call position that will require work on weekends and holidays.
Ability to work 12-16 hrs. shifts when required and under minimal supervision
We prefer CDL drivers with a Class C CDL but not mandatory
Role Summary :
Client has an opening for a Chemical Service Technician to assist in the implementation and monitoring of specialty chemical applications within the refinery and terminals.
This position will entail; field activity (inventory control, operating chemical feed systems, performing maintenance & repair) as well as other related duties.
The candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently executing work in the refinery / terminal setting and will work closely with customer personnel and client site team.
They will also be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of equipment and chemical to and from job sites.

Essential Responsibilities :
Work with pumps, generators, hoses, and fittings
Chemical transferring & deliveries
Moving materials, components and other products to and from job sites
Transport chemical in accordance with Department of Transportation guidelines.
Sample Collection and testing
Assist client representative(s) with in plant / terminal duties including loading / unloading treatment chemicals, chemical pump monitoring, samples, chemical tank inventories, and chemical injection system maintenance and repair
Manage Preventive Maintenance Program
Ability to work 12-16 hrs. shifts when required and under minimal supervision
Capable of working at heights
Effective communications skills : Verbal & Written
Exhibit Strong Safety Culture
Qualifications / Requirements :
High School Diploma with 2 years experience.
Class C CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements desired
Industrial or chemical / refinery plant experience
Willing to travel when needed.
Must be able to successfully pass Drug & Alcohol Testing Regulations
Clean Driving record with a valid US Driver s license & valid TWIC Card
Experience with pumps and hoses
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Desired Characteristics :
Class C CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred
Self-motivated, very strong interpersonal skills, and a quick learner
Experience with field testing, such as H2S and pour point
Experience performing form additive injections
Experience handling hazardous materials
Experience working with generators, compressors, pumps and piping
