R&D Pilot Plant Technician

ONSITE

Pay : 23.18 / hr, W 2 Candidate should have valid DL and able to drive truck. RESPONSIBILITIES : Working in a team environment under minimal daily direct supervision, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following; Prepare experimental refining catalysts on a 5 to 20 Kg scale using established procedures including crystallization, ion exchange, calcination in the Pilot Plant Conduct experiments, generate reliable data, and interpret results for FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) catalyst research projects Coordinate and work effectively with support / service groups to deliver results in a timely manner Organize and store data in electronic databases Work closely with supervisor, providing frequent updates and planning next set of experiments Process data in the form of tables, graphs, PowerPoint presentations and share with the supervisor and the team, as needed Responsible for performing the entire range of refining catalyst preparation and evaluation methods Ability to work effectively in a larger than lab scale environment potentially generating 5-120 Kg samples Identify hazards and work safely following EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) guidelines

REQUIREMENTS A minimum of an Associate's degree in Chemistry. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry / Material Science / Chemical Engineering or related discipline is a plus Knowledge of and focus on EH&S protocols and cleanliness in the laboratory is desired Must have excellent laboratory or pilot plant scale skills, including detailed record keeping and knowledge of safe handling of chemicals and equipment Must be able to lift and handle up to 40 lbs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in MS Office software and Lotus Notes required Demonstrated history of improvements made in laboratory work processes a plus Experience in zeolite catalysis is a plus.
