Description :
The Suicide Prevention Program at the Department of Public Health is seeking a
detail-oriented and proactive Project Manager to oversee the Suicide Mortality
Review Board (SMR). This is a new initiative through the Governor's
Challenge to Prevent Suicide Among Service Members, Veterans and their Families.
The SMR will bring together experts to review suicide deaths and identify
potential public health interventions for suicide prevention across the state.
The Project Manager will work closely with the SMR leads.
Responsibilities :
Lead and facilitate Suicide Mortality Review Committee
meetings, ensuring timeliness, detailed record keeping and prioritizing
key goals and objectives.
Oversee communications between subject-level experts across the
state relating to opportunities to gather or disseminate information,
obtain concurrence on certain topics, schedule meetings, and similar
tasks.
Manage the preparation of Suicide Mortality Review Committee supporting
documentation in an organized and timely fashion with great attention to
detail.
Responsible for ensuring sensitive information is stored and
accessed appropriately.
Coordinate the drafting and dissemination of written summary
reports focusing on recommendations to key decision makers that will
inform specific interventions intended to reduce the number of suicides.
Act as liaison between different local, and state agencies on
matters related to SMR.
Create and maintain relationships with various
private, local, state and federal agencies and others to exchange information,
to raise awareness of project activities and to find ways to collaborate.
Ensure and record required tasks for federal
funding are completed.
Oversee contracting and
other administrative tasks required of federal funding recipients.
Qualifications and Skills :
1. Must have a minimum 5 years' relevant work experience; Master's Degree preferred.
2. Must have knowledge and experience project management.
3. Knowledge of suicide prevention especially postvention a plus.
