Axiom Builders is actively seeking 3 dedicated and experienced Construction Safety Officers (CSO) to oversee and enhance safety protocols across our construction sites in Richmond, Vancouver, Burnaby and Coquitlam. You will be assigned to one project; however, your site may be changed based on project needs.
The CSO's fundamental role is to uphold Axiom Builders' stringent safety standards by meticulously monitoring the site-specific safety plan and ensuring full compliance. Beyond compliance, the CSO will proactively address any safety concerns that arise and adeptly implement solutions that align with Axiom's steadfast commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
Stay updated on occupational health and safety regulations, maintaining relevant certifications;
Monitor and enhance safety by tracking issues, maintaining records of incidents, and suggesting improvements;
Conduct orientations, training, and safety coordination for workers and subcontractors;
Perform safety inspections, hazard assessments, and provide guidance on tool and equipment usage;
Lead emergency response, manage First Aid resources, investigate incidents, and collaborate on safety record management.

Skills and Experience
Five or more (5 ) years related experience in a safety position acquired in a construction setting (residential, commercial, institutional, or industrial settings);
Compulsory Occupational First Aid (OFA) Level 3 (with transport endorsement);
National Construction Safety Officer or similar accreditation through a recognized training authority;
Additional training in safety an asset including but not limited to, WHMIS, CSTS, Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform etc.;
Thorough knowledge of all applicable Provincial legislation regarding Occupational Health and Safety;
Effective time management, organizational and problem-solving skills, including an understanding of accident prevention and cause analysis;
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Must be able to coach, facilitate and influence a cultural and behavioral change in the workplace regarding safety;
Post-secondary Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety an asset.
Salary : $34 - $37
