Axiom Builders is looking to add a Design Manager for a once-in-a-career project; a luxury high-rise that will change the skyline of Cole Harbour and all of Vancouver! This 40 story highrise has 40 unique floor plans and requires someone with a keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills to adapt and adjust on the fly as the project is being built.
You will work on-site alongside the Project Management team, Site Superintendents and internal Virtual Construction team. This role will be a dedicated resource to this monumental project, once complete your career can take down one of many paths: another site, in-house VCON team or Project Management.
Key Responsibilities
Working with client, site team, consultants, and trades to incorporate updates to drawings in the virtual construction process.
Manage changes throughout the construction process, understand the impacts it will have on the design and produce as-built plans and framing layout adjustments;
Conduct comprehensive reviews of design documents, models, and drawings, identifying and resolving conflicts, clashes, or coordination issues while ensuring compliance with client standards;
Communicate with different project stakeholders, including coordinating with consultants and sub-contractors;
Act as an advisor to the client and work with sites to ensure the design is in accordance with our construction standards and industry-leading standard; Oversee the organization and management of design-related documentation, ensuring prioritization of issues and deliverables, and accessibility for relevant stakeholders.

You enjoy working with trades, utilizing virtual construction platforms and can communicate designs and drawings effectively to all levels within an organization - both internally and externally.
Skills and Experience
Over five (5) years of experience in construction, architecture or design, ideally with experience in residential high-rise/towers;
Academic degree or diploma in Architecture, Design, Construction, Building Technology, Engineering or a related field;
Good working knowledge of architectural design, documentation, detailing, building materials and codes, construction techniques, as well as city bylaws and city permitting processes;
Excellent service-oriented communication skills with ability to build trust with our clients;
Some knowledge of or exposure to construction best practices, tendering processes, and construction administration will be considered an asset;
Intermediate proficiency in Revit at the minimum, and experience with MS Project, Revizto or Synchro will be considered an asset.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
