We are seeking an experienced Shop Supervisor to lead our team in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring production targets are met, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing shop efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on machining experience, and a deep understanding of aerospace industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Production & Operations Management
- Supervise and coordinate daily shop floor activities to meet production schedules and quality requirements.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and aerospace industry standards.
- Work closely with quality control to address non-conformances and drive continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment and finished products.
- Lead and mentor a team of machinists, programmers, and technicians.
- Provide training on machining processes, safety protocols, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and teamwork.
- Ensure machines and tools are properly maintained and calibrated.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and preventative maintenance schedules.
- Identify opportunities for lean manufacturing and waste reduction.
- Optimize machine utilization and minimize downtime.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 10 years of experience in a precision aerospace machining environment.
- 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, programming (G-code, Mastercam, or similar), and blueprint reading (GD&T).
- Experience with aerospace materials (aluminum, titanium, Inconel, etc.).
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for shop scheduling and inventory management.
- Six Sigma or lean manufacturing certification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
