Overview

Axiom staffing is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Setup/Operator for an aluminum and zinc die casting facility. The ideal CNC Machinist Setup/Operator will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and experience with various machining processes. As a CNC Machinist Setup/Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, programming and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components, ensuring that they meet the required specifications and quality standards. This is a split shift position, 10am-8pm, Monday-Thursday with possible Fridays as needed. Pay ranges from $25-35 per hour depending on experience.

CNC Machinist Setup/Operator Duties

• Manually set up, program and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to manufacture parts according to engineering specifications.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for machining tasks as needed.
• Perform programming of CNC machines to optimize production efficiency and accuracy.
• Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify the dimensions of finished products, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to implement lean manufacturing principles for continuous improvement in processes.
• Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the machining process and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

CNC Machinist Setup/Operator Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist Setup/Operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus.
• Proficient in programming CNC machines
• Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
