Job Summary:

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our fermentation-based animal health production facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment related to fermentation, utilities, and processing systems to ensure optimal plant operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, and working within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fermentation equipment, including bioreactors, agitators, pumps, and heat exchangers.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and control systems to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Maintain and calibrate sensors, pressure valves, and temperature controllers used in fermentation and freeze-drying processes.
• Work with steam boilers, compressed air systems, and other utility infrastructure critical to fermentation operations.
• Assist in equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to optimize fermentation processes and minimize operational disruptions.
• Support facility-wide maintenance needs, including HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

• High School diploma plus two years of industrial maintenance experience or post-high school vocational school education in a skilled trade?
• Technical Skills:
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
  • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and control systems is a plus.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting and carrying heavy objects (often 50 lbs).
  • Standing, walking, and working for extended periods.
  • Climbing ladders, scaffolding, or stairs.
  • Bending, kneeling, and crouching frequently.
