The Business Analyst is responsible for business process analysis & design, root cause & gap analysis, improvement identification and implementation, requirements management, and mapping of business processes across all functional operational activities.
Reporting to the Business Analyst Lead, the role will be based in Red Bank office or the Princeton office and will focus on operational transformation initiatives including project and small change/demand management deliverables, which is driven by the business within an agile framework.
The initiatives will vary in scope across the organization, and the Business Analyst will be expected to manage key senior stakeholders in both Global Markets and North America, while working with a high degree of autonomy.

What will you do in this role?
- Ensuring operational transformation is conducted in line with regulatory requirements, considers wider-market initiatives and correlates deliverables against the AXIS value chain, whilst documenting problem statements and projected business benefits that help the development of the business case.
- When assigned to centrally governed projects or smaller demand change requests the BA will liaise with business subject matter experts; facilitating meetings to gain an understanding of their area to ensure the business requirements are understood.
- The BA will be responsible for capturing business requirements, validating and analyzing the business impact which will substantiate operating model, technology and / or process deliverable feasibility in context of current business strategy.
- Identify, document, and present vital business process metrics across the AS IS and TO BE states enabling benefits to be measured in respect of projected FTE savings.
- Work independently at examining processes, data, and systems to understand the opportunities and impacts across AXIS when forming the basis of the improvements and TO BE state.
- On occasions where deliverables include technology changes, the BA will assist with User Acceptance Test planning, reviewing the proposed acceptance test scenarios to ensure the expected business outcomes are in line with stakeholder requirements and agreed project goals.
- Champion Business Analysis best practices, socializing and further developing the AXIS process taxonomy, whilst adopting relevant analysis techniques to drive forward operational transformation capabilities across our organization.

What you need to have:
- Effective communication skills in both written and oral form
- A high level of analytical, problem solving and numerical skills
- Ability to understand problems and express the complexity of them in clear terms in varying formats depending on the audience
- Excellent client facing skills/collaboration and stakeholder management and engagement
- Ability to influence and coordinate senior stakeholders and concurrent projects
- Able to work effectively and self-sufficiently
- Aptitude for multi-tasking, working to emerging and tight timelines
- Strong process mapping skills, process data synthesis and value add analysis with preferred process improvement project experience preferred.
- MS Office, including Visio and advanced Excel
- Insurance / Reinsurance industry experience including North American Commercial and Specialty lines of business, London Market and Lloyd’s processes including Open Market and Delegated placing types.
- Lean Six Sigma and Process Reengineering experience
- Business Analysis: CBAP, IIBA, BCS or relevant equivalent
