What are the responsibilities and job description for the CMM Programmer - 1st Shift position at Axis Engineering?

To help us drive excellence, as a CMM Programmer, you’ll get to:

- Conduct part layouts and capability studies to assure parts meet or exceed dimensional requirements of the customer.
- Maintain the calibration systems in Main saver/Gage Trak system.
- Maintain calibration and certification records.
- Maintain gauges in good working order.
- Establish and maintain annual part/gauge layout schedules.
- Evaluate CMM data for accuracy, prior to submission.
- Prepare reports for internal and external customers and interface as appropriate.
- Write CMM programs.
- Maintain CMM & CMM software in good working order.
- Participate in team problem solving activities.
- Provide CMM data for sample part submission.
- Interface with customers, contractors and suppliers as appropriate.
- Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving activities (ex. 8D reports, department meetings, etc.).
- Support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and Quality Registrations (ex. TS 16949, ISO 14001, Pentastar, etc.)
- Assist with plant activities to achieve quality, productivity and cost reduction goals.
- Comply with all internal and OSHA required safety procedures while performing daily work activities.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work area.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all areas of the organization.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ex. Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II Procedures etc.)
This full-time role is a part of our Quality Department reports to the Plant Manager
Required education & experience:
- Associates/Technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Zero to three (3) years’ experience as a CMM programmer/operator in PCDMIS preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Experience in calibration methods and use of measuring tools.
- Technical math skills.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.
