Community Outreach Specialist
Axis for Autism is seeking part-time Community Outreach Specialist to support our sales initiatives in the Tucson area.
Your Role with Axis:
- Identifies and targets new client opportunities for the organization through thoughtful, focused and customized approaches. Reaches out to target clients to set up appointments, build relationships and secure Axis as their provider of choice
- Develops and maintains long-term positive relationships with diverse audiences including, but not limited to, employers, payers, physicians, municipalities, associations, chambers, case managers, risk managers, claims adjusters and medical practice administrators
- Generates leads, manages the sales cycle and successfully closes sales
- Monitors and reports competitive activities and industry trends
- Provides weekly and monthly sales statistics and communication on current and ‘pipeline’ sales initiatives
- Utilizes company selected sales software to monitor and report activity
- Maintains and updates client database, key contacts and contact information
- Initiates, schedules and attends applicable events in order to promote Axis’ services and generate new leads
- Maintains existing relationships (~20% of time) while also pursuing new opportunities (80% of time)
- Attends and participates in weekly sales and marketing meetings
- Supports and participates in the company’s response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and other presentations
- Attend community events as needed (may require weekend availability)
- Provides weekly reports to Sales Manager/VP of Sales with weekly updates on sales/marketing efforts
- Assist with internal special events (i.e. Back to School Drive, Holiday Gift Drive, etc.)
- Monitors upcoming opportunities for bids or other contract terminations; proactively notifies leadership so the team has ample time to respond
- Participates in activities intended to build relationships with existing or prospective customers (mixers, association meetings, networking events)
- Seeks new and existing customer feedback on how Axis might better serve its clients. Promotes ongoing improvement in services and client relations.

- Any additional support as needed
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
- 3 years previous experience working in a behavioral health or medical environment preferred but not required.
- Advanced skills / proven track record in cultivation of relationships with key decision makers and referral sources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface effectively cross-functionally and within clinical practice
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed
- Proficient in using Microsoft 365 and other office software programs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive – someone who sees a need and is willing to jump in and help
- Valid driver’s license within the state of employment required.
