Community Outreach Specialist
Summary: Under the supervision of the Community Development Director or Designee, this position furthers community outreach and engagement by supporting the marketing and tourism operations of the City. The position works closely with Administrative staff in improving the quality of life and amenities for local citizens.
Social Media
- Manage City Social Media platforms and implement best practices to inform citizens.
- Create new and interesting content to draw positive attention to the City and our Special Events
- Update City Website and Visitor Website
- Update Community Events regularly
Marketing and Tourism
- Assist in Visitor Center Operations
- Update Events on Websites
- Update the Community Activities and Services Brochure
- Assist the City Library in outreach and community programs.
- Manage and Implement Arizona Office of Tourism Grants
- Create fliers, rack cards and other print and digital materials
Community Programs
- Compliment Studio 128, WASA, Senior Center, Schools and other community organizations in providing recreational, cultural and educational programs.
- Coordinate Workforce Development and other programs with the City Library
- Identify needs of Community members through surveys, 1:1 interaction, workshops, etc.
- Further relationships with the school to avoid offering duplicate programs.
- Assist in coordinating the City-wide Cleanup Day
Other Duties
- Perform research and analysis.
- Identify, research and write grants to supplement City programs.
- Assist Departments in outreach
- May be assigned special projects by the City Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in providing recreational, cultural and educational programs.
- 1-year experience in organizing events and activities
- Any combination of education and experience
Position must have the ability to communicate with others, perform outreach, write, and present information to community leaders.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
