What are the responsibilities and job description for the Distribution Journeyman Lineman position at Axis Power?
Duties
- 5 years of experience in overhead distribution construction, with at least 2 years working as a overhead distribution Lineman.
- Construct, maintain and repair overhead distribution lines.
- Able to demonstrate climbing techniques and procedures, care and inspection of distribution structure hardware, tools, gear and various equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of overhead distribution systems, equipment, and installation techniques of poles and various components/ hardware.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Understands how to phase out a line using phasing sticks and grounding procedures.
- Must be able to safely perform a reconductoring job and making/ removing mechanical jumpers.
- Work with Lineman crews whilst providing guidance, and safe productivity.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and technical drawings.
- Ensure work is completed correctly according to technical specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Must be familiar with induced voltage, sag wire and set up tension sites.
- Must be capable of properly phasing a circuit through a substation.
- Capable of properly installing and removing PPE and cover up.
- Must be able to work at height/ climb different types of structures wood etc. and operate bucket truck.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards with OSHA 10 minimum.
- Capable of properly installing and removing PPE and cover up.
- Understands flag and tag procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
- Working at various heights on distribution lines
- Able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must carry out Drug and Alcohol testing/ screening.
- Must be authorized to work in the US
