Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental and safety programs to ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and other relevant safety standards. This role is crucial in fostering a culture of safety within the organization, minimizing risks, and promoting occupational health.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for incidents and accidents to determine underlying issues and implement corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance issues for management review.
- Provide training development for employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, first aid, and occupational health topics.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a safe working environment through effective communication and training initiatives.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and changes in regulations related to workplace safety.
- Facilitate and participate in safety meetings with plant personnel and company leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a safety management role or similar position within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, and workers' compensation processes.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Certification in First Aid/CPR is highly desirable.
- Experience in training development with a focus on employee engagement in safety practices.
- Ability to fabricate solutions to address safety challenges effectively.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing preventive measures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
