Summary Of The R&D (New Product Development) Internship
We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our R&D team in TAMPA at Axogen. The internship will be for at least 3 semesters and start this summer 2025 . This internship will be based out of our Tampa HQ where our lab is located. Knowledgeable mentors will guide a dynamic, professional, hands-on experience. The intern will get a unique look into the benefits of working within a smaller biomedical company with high visibility within the company.

Benefits/Compensation
The anticipated base wage for this position is $18/hr for an undergrad student and $20/hr for a grad student. In addition to the base hourly rate, there may be a housing stipend available based on location. Interns who are 21 years of age or older are eligible for 401K.
Axogen is on a hybrid work schedule for some of our positions based out of our headquarters in Florida, with 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The hybrid work schedule does not include sales or facilities in Ohio or Texas.
Axogen follows healthcare system guidelines with respect to credentialing, vaccinations and other employment/compliance related requirements, as well as CDC guidance. Axogen reserves the right to amend its policies from time to time in its sole discretion.

Requirements Of The R&D (New Product Development) Internship
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program; preferably in Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis on engineering/technology
- Ability to work up to 40 hours/week in the summer and a minimum of 12 hours/week during the fall and spring semesters during normal business hours (8-5pm, Mon-Fri) in the Tampa lab; specific days/hours will be based on student’s class load
- Pass a drug screening
- Lab experience preferred with technical skills such as basic lab skills (pipetting, running assays, aseptic technique, etc.), data analysis, and 3-D printing.
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Basic computer skills, use of Microsoft Office, Excel, and basic data analysis desirable
- Good teamwork skills and a respectful attitude
- Ability to independently follow protocols and instructions
- Good organization and time management skills desirable
- The intern will be working on new product development projects, process improvement projects, and/or marketing support projects. As R&D priorities change frequently, these assigned projects will likely evolve each semester.
