Overview
We are seeking our new IS Project Manager to join the Axway team!
The Project Manager is responsible for managing the deliverables, commitments, relationships, and communication plans for Axway Information Systems projects. The Project Manager works with stakeholders to define requirements, sometimes without business documents as a starting point. The Project manager is also responsible for all documentation, metrics, timeline creation & management, and will assume “Ownership” of the project and its successful execution.
The Project Manager will often advise the business on possible technical solutions, keeping in mind Axway’s system landscape, operational processes, and internal customer requirements when collaborating with the business.
The Project manager must be a self-starter, not afraid to ruffle feathers, step on toes, or challenge the status quo. Decisive action and self-confidence are keys to project success. Doing is valued over talking, and the Axway IS PMO does what is required for the project's success.
Responsibilities
- This project role will ensure creation of project prerequisites (charter/business documents) as required by the PMO
- Organizing meetings to discuss project goals and progress
- The project manager establishes and manages schedules, reporting, and status of results
- The project manager manages risks, issues, dependencies, actions, change requests and provides regular status reporting
- The project manager uses established PMBOK project management methodologies with a focus on Agile software development including an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle
- The project manager successfully manages diverse, cross-functional, concurrently running project teams (architects, engineers, developers and/or consultants) in geographically distributed locations, using sound problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
- The project manager establishes project baselines and tracking compliance and deviations from baselines
- Complete projects by coordinating project team members and developing schedules and individual responsibilities
- Coordinate resources and timetables with user departments
- Verify system results by conducting system tests of technologies implemented.
- Using project management tools to track project performance and schedule adherence
Qualifications
- Project management and leadership skills, comfort with leading without direct responsibility
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members and management; ability to explain technical issues
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle any issues that occur during project completion
- Proven track record of successfully executed projects
- Experience leading large, multi-system projects across several business units
- Experience with M&A integration projects a huge plus
- Organization and time management skills to keep projects on track and within budget
- Excellent resource planning and task scheduling skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Project Management certifications or equivalent education ITIL, or Security certifications (PMP, ITIL, PRINCE2, CSM, PSM, SDLC etc.)
- Experience using Atlassian Jira, Confluence, Roadmaps
- Deep understanding and focus on Agile principles
