Lead Mammography Technologist

The Mammography Supervisor position supervises the daily activities of assigned staff in the mammography department and performs as a staff mammographer. The supervisor functions as a member of the supervisory team of the Medical Imaging Department. The supervisor provides input to the management team to develop policies and procedures regarding the mammography department. They will effectively participate in performance improvement projects for mammography, as well as the entire Medical Imaging Department.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Determines, coordinates, and supervises daily staffing assignments and staffing levels for the mammography department.
- Trains, coaches, and evaluates assigned staff on performance expectations.; Provides input for hiring and termination procedures.
- Maintains a working/current knowledge of mammography policies and procedures to ensure appropriate departmental operations and compliance.
- Coordinates patient care with other members of the team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and desired patient outcomes.
- Assists with quality control testing, instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Adhere to the prescribed standards of Safety and HIPAA within the Healthcare organization.
- Creates work schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
- Performs as part of the Mammography staff daily.
- Maintains a high morale among staff members by evaluating performance fairly, treating staff in a dignified manner and keeping the staff informed of pertinent hospital and departmental matters.
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Maintains all requirements for MQSA certification and ACR accreditation.
- Applies the principles of teamwork in all aspects of providing patient services.
- Proficient in the operation of all relevant equipment and computer systems
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Education: Associates degree required; Bachelors preferred.
- Experience: Three (3) years mammography supervisory
- Preferred: Five (5) years mammography experience
- Strong customer service and verbal/written communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet objectives.
- Ability to demonstrate ethical and professional behaviors at all times.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
- Ability to comply with all HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Ability to walk or stand to a significant degree.

- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
