What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Accountant position at Ayres?

You’ll be at the center of delivering strong customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
On any given day you’ll:
- Review account coding and process daily Accounts Payable vendor payments.
- Review account coding and process weekly Employee Expense reimbursements; follow up with employees as necessary.
- Maintain accurate vendor details for 1099 preparation.
- Maintain Accounts Payable electronic files of payable and expenses supporting documentation.
- Update and file weekly timesheet data.
- Assist project managers with project setups and prepare invoices for clients.
- Assist in Sales & Use tax filing.
- Prepare year end audit schedules.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- General financial/accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Dependable, organized, flexible, and the ability to multi-task.
Desired Skills and Experiences:
- Associates Degree in Accounting or business-related field a plus.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and establish a professional, welcoming and inclusive environment for anyone working with the Accounting department.
- Experience with programs such as Chrome River and Deltek Vision beneficial.
- Knowledge of sales and use tax reporting a plus.
