This position involves a variety of accounting tasks, including managing payroll processes, reconciling accounts, and performing month-end close processes.Reports To : Finance ControllerPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and oversee accrual-based accounting; perform month-end close processes, including preparing and posting journal entries and reconciling accounts.Process payroll and work as part of accounting and HR to ensure accuracy. Collecting and reviewing employee information and working hours. Calculating wages, overtime, deductions, bonuses, etc.Prepares and maintains accurate financial records and reports in accordance with GAPP, transactions according to company policies and procedures.Performs monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts and balance sheet accounts.Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and accurate financial statements.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.Generate reports from databases to disseminate information to internal departments and external entities as required.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and recognize insights to support strategic decision-making.Performs other duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of accrual accounting systems, the generally accepted accounting principles, and QuickBooks.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills with both internal and external vendors.Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness.Ability to understand and interpret policies and regulations.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and other financial software applications.Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial matters.Ability to ensure compliance with deadlines.Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, or finance required.Other Requirements
- At least two to three years of related experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar role.Working ConditionsThe position is in a well-lit office environment. Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day and walking or standing the remainder. The equipment to be operated will be standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
